There’s no doubt about it: the industry is ready for a truly great coal show. Organizers SEMCO Publishing and North American Mining magazine are working non-stop on the details for the first annual 2024 West Virginia Coal Show, being held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the West Virginia Coal Association Mining Symposium.

The expo, set for March 26-27, 2024 at the Charleston Convention Center and Coliseum, has received enormous positive feedback from an excited coal mining community, from suppliers to operations and beyond. The proof is in the numbers: at press time, available booth spaces were continuing to quickly shrink, with new applications being received daily from across the U.S. and Europe for what promises to be the best coal-focused mining show in many years. See the complete exhibitor list here.

One main attraction is the locale: one of the arterial cities for mining in the United States, Charleston, and in the state long known for its top production and support of the coal community, pro-coal regulations and technological innovators. What’s more is its host venue: the newly renovated and expanded West Virginia Convention Center and Coliseum, a riverfront gem in the heart of the state’s capitol city.

Another great benefit of the show is its reasonable pricing. For example, coal industry suppliers and manufacturers can secure a 10-foot by 10-foot (10×10) exhibit space for just $1,700, and those who are West Virginia Coal Association members (or apply for membership before booking) are eligible for a $200 discount per space. For coal operators wishing to recruit new talent, a 10×10 space is just $1,200. A booth package – which consists of carpet, a table and two chairs – is just $150. Compare that to the costs of other events. As a bonus, forklift services using one of two available machines, is free of charge thanks to a sponsorship from North American Mining magazine.
