Founded in 1915, the West Virginia Coal Association has as its primary purpose the promotion of the betterment of the state’s leading industry. This is accomplished through a myriad of legislative, legal, administrative, and technical programs designed to ensure the industry’s competitiveness and long-term viability. The organization represents upwards of 90% of West Virginia’s thermal and metallurgical coal-producing companies along with land companies, equipment manufacturers, electric utilities, coal transportation companies, mine supply companies and a host of technical and maintenance companies and general service providers and businesses.
